This month's special feature covers
the ever increasing number of Poker Rooms being opened in
casinos all over the UK and Ireland.
Poker Rooms were very common in Las Vegas casinos throughout
the 1960s and 1970s, however, the ever increasing commercial
pressures on the large Las Vegas casinos meant that Poker Rooms
were closed in favour of larger and larger banks of slot machines.
Over the last few years however, with the increase in Televised
Poker, Online Poker and movies such as Oceans 11 and Rounders,
poker is quickly becoming the new game for the masses. Many
UK Casino operators are now opening Poker Rooms across their
estates. As Poker is the fastest growing game in UK casinos,
it is worth calling your local casino to find out if they've
added a Poker Room, or if they plan to.
We've got a dedicated section of this site for UK
and Ireland Poker Rooms and for Las
Vegas Poker Rooms. Each section gives valuable
information about types of games on offer and
the tournament days in each Poker Room.
Our European Poker
Events section details the upcoming
major tournaments and results on the European Poker
Tour. If you want to enter any of these prestigious
tournaments, simply make contact with the casino
hosting the event and register. They all offer satellite
events in the lead up to the final day, you could
find yourself on the same table as one of the world's
poker greats.
In our Rule Book section
we list the basic rules for Poker and also have
the full 'Robert's
Rules of Poker' written by Poker great Bob
Ciaffone, a leading authority on cardroom rules.
These rules are free to copy and are the standard
throughout the world for Poker.
Finally, don't forget to join our Free
Players Club. Our monthly newsletter will
contain information about Poker Rooms openings,
Tournaments and even promotions from your local
Poker Room. It's free to join,
why wait?
